When you create registration types (see Setup Event Registration Fees), you will have the option to select the Benefit Item to be tied to a registration fee. You are able to choose multiple benefit items for one registration type. For example, you may have one membership that receives a free registration where as another may get 50% off.
The benefit will be automatically applied to eligible registrants when they login to register for the event. If the setting "Event Benefits applied with email address match" is enabled under Setup, Manage Benefit Tracking on the Setup tab, then registrants only need to match their email address when registering in order to receive the benefits (see the linked article for more information).
NOTE: Benefit Items can only be tied to Paid registrations.
When members register for your event, if they have been given benefit item, the system will recognize this and reflect this on the registration page, as shown below.
Can my staff register on behalf of someone and apply their benefit item discount?
- Yes. Staff can use the option to impersonate that individual in the Info Hub; registering for the event from the Info Hub allows you to fully authenticate as that individual without knowing their login and password. This method of registering will grant any appropriate benefit item discounts.
